Illusions of Fate by Kiersten White Tour Recap w/Natalie Whipple + Giveaway

About a week ago, I was able to attend one of the tour stops on Kiersten White’s tour for ILLUSIONS OF FATE, her latest fantasy stand-alone that was released early this month. It was a lot of fun and both Natalie and Kiersten were great speakers during the event. They talked about their writing processes, the way that they met, the nature of fangirling over authors/publicists/editors/etc. and cracked various jokes.

It was great to see both of them, and I was glad to get one of my favorite books ever–TRANSPARENT, and Kiersten’s new book that I’m extremely excited about, signed. Below are pictures of the event as well as various swag. You can also enter to win a hardback copy of Illusions of Fate or bookmarks from Natalie Whipple here! You can find my review of ILLUSIONS OF FATE on the blog on September 26th, 2014.

  1. That is so cool that you got to meet both of those authors! I’d love to meet Kiersten White. I really enjoyed Mind Games and I want to read all of her books now. Favorite magic-related story? Honestly, I don’t have a favorite. But I love, love, love stories about witches! :)

  2. I think the closest encounter with magic is card tricks ;p I’m lame I know.

Honestly, I wasn’t very excited about Kiersten White’s new book, illusions of Fate. I never have actually loved her books, so I wasn’t looking forward to it. But then a few months back, I came across a review or few of it and finally learned what it was about- a magical place set in a place similar to England? Yes please! So, I know, I was judging on her previous works unfairly, but now I am SO excited to read Illusions of Fate.

  3. I think Disney fairy tales are my favorite magic stories!

  4. So great that you got to meet them! My favorite magic stories are ones involving time travel and parallel universes

  5. Of course Harry Potter, but aside from the obvious my son and I both loved the Inkheart books. Thanks for the fab giveaway. I loved the Paranormalcy trilogy and am looking forward to seeing what Illusions of fate has to offer. :)

  6. Also, just so you know there is at least one person who is modifying their Twitter entry to go straight to the Rafflecopter. This is a new tactic some people are employing hoping that others will not take the time to figure out the originating blog to get more entries for themselves. This means you are not getting as many blog views. Thank goodness you had a link back to the blog post. I found this out too late for my current giveaway, but next time I am going to put it in my giveaway rules that the prepackaged tweet can not be modified/altered.

    • Thanks for letting me know!

      • Oh, I just realized I’m “that person.” D: Sorry, I’ve been tweeting about the giveaway, but I’ve been through the rafflecopter, which then links it only back to the raffle(I didn’t realize that until I looked at my tweets). I’m sorry about that! I’ll be more careful to link back to the blogs and not to the raffles when I tweet about a giveaway.
Alright, I feel better now( I felt awful that I was the one doing that, unknowingly, albeit but still.)

      • No problem! It’s okay. It’s just the people who were intentionally doing it. Thanks for letting me know though! I appreciate it. :)

  7. I think I would have to say The Burning Sky by Sherry Thomas! Thank you for the giveaway!
